RESEARCH RESIDENCIES

RESIDENCIES

RURAL & URBAN

The Open Call for Tilling Roots & Seeds was developed to support artistic exploration of the biodiversity crisis in relation to agriculture. The initiative offered four artistic grants, including three Artistic Research residencies and one Production Grant.

These residencies took place on farms in Italy and within urban agriculture organizations in Spain, offering artists an immersive setting to explore local farming practices, ecological challenges, and community-driven food systems.

Two  of these residencies took place in Italy, mentored by Kilowatt and hosted by the farms ARVAIA società cooperativa agricola (Emma Harris), and Il Poggiolo Rifugio Re-Esistente (Mali Weil).

Additionally, one residency took place in Spain, mentored by Quo Artis, with host organizations: Ferrer Foundation - Green For Good, Tectum Garden, Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, and Contorno Urbano (Santiago Morilla).
